If there’s one thing I’ve learned after years of coaching, it’s this …
People don’t stick to workouts they “should” do.
They stick to workouts they enjoy.
And yet… this is something we often overlook.
So many clients come to us asking for the best workout.
The most effective program.
The fastest way to get results.
But the real question we should be asking is:
👉 What kind of movement will you actually show up for?
Because consistency doesn’t come from pressure.
It comes from alignment.
Enjoyment Is Not a Bonus — It’s the Strategy
When clients enjoy what they’re doing:
- they show up more often
- they build confidence faster
- they associate movement with positive feelings
- they stay engaged longer
That’s not fluff — that’s sustainable coaching.
And enjoyment looks different for everyone.
Some people light up with:
- heavy lifting
- shoulder workouts (hi 👋 yes, me too 😄)
- Pilates or Lagree
- hiking, swimming, or walking
- MMA, CrossFit, flow-based movement
There is no “right” answer.
The right workout is the one that fits the person standing in front of you.
How to Help Clients Figure Out What They Love
Here’s a simple coaching shift that works beautifully:
Instead of asking:
❌ “What workouts have you done before?”
Try asking:
✔️ “What kinds of movement have you ever enjoyed?”
✔️ “What feels good in your body?”
✔️ “What would you actually look forward to doing?”
Then — and this is key — listen without judgment.
Your job isn’t to push them into what you love.
Your job is to guide them toward what they will stick with.
Your Role as a Coach
This is where great coaching happens.
You bring:
- structure
- progression
- safety
- encouragement
They bring:
- preference
- enjoyment
- personal connection
Together, that’s where momentum lives.
This is exactly why I love sharing different styles of workouts inside the weekly WOW … not because everyone should do the same thing, but because variety helps clients discover what they love.
And once they find that?
Showing up gets a whole lot easier.
A Gentle Reminder …
Consistency isn’t about discipline alone.
It’s about creating an experience people want to return to.
When movement feels good,
when it feels aligned,
when it feels personal …
That’s when habits stick. And that’s when real change happens.
If you ever want more done-for-you workouts to support different client preferences, that’s exactly what I build inside White Label Workouts.
